Origami Dress Tutorial

I fell in love with these gorgeous dresses a bit ago, and I thought I'd share them with you. I have tried a few different ways of doing this, and this way is the simplest. Please comment if confused, and I'll be more than happy to help.

So, we start with a square piece of paper. I've used a page from an old book, and I've used newspaper in the past.
Fold the piece of paper in half, and unfold again. and then each side to the middle, and unfold
again.
This should leave you with three creases. Fold one side to the far crease. There should be one crease (black line in picture on above right). Fold edge of paper down, along the crease.

On other side, fold paper up to meet other edge of paper, and fold down on same crease as the other one. It should look like this. >

The side where the bit pops out it the back of your dress. The other side is the front.

Next, fold the back in half, so it is on the
inside. (Picture to left) The fold it back, over lapping it. The short part is the bodice, and the other the skirt. Make this how you want it. (Picture to right)

Turn to inside of dress, and fold sides in. You want to give the bit on the skirt a slope outwards, like this. (below on left)

On the front, fold to triangles out as shown in picture on right. ---> Unfold
Next bit is quite tricky. you need to turn it over, and unfold the edges. You need to pull down the paper, and smooth it out. Don't worry if you don't get it the first time. (picture below on right)

Well, we've done the hardest bit. Fold some sleeves out, as shown to your left. And your done!

I get a piece of ribbon to go around it, and I also fold out the skirt. You can also make a little flower to stick on it.    Mazie
